Hong Kong – 7 June 2021 – Deacons, Hong Kong’s own world-class law firm, has strengthened its corporate finance practice with the hire of Erica Wong, an experienced banking and finance lawyer, as Partner.
Erica joins Deacons from Ogier, where she focused her practice on complex cross-border banking and financing transactions. Over the years, she has practised law with an array of international law firms in Hong Kong, including, among others, Allen & Overy, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Linklaters, gaining rich experience in dealing with syndicated, club and bilateral financing, real estate financing, acquisition financing, pre-IPO financing and margin financing.
Erica graduated from the University of New South Wales with degrees in both Law and Commerce and received her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws with Distinction from the University of Hong Kong. Erica qualified as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia in 2010 and then as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2011. Erica speaks Cantonese, English and Mandarin.

Since 2013, the team has advised on over 120 IPOs/new listings in Hong Kong, and over 50 takeovers/privatisation transactions involving Hong Kong-listed companies, as well as over 150 debt capital market transactions.
