Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect is of strong interest to overseas fund management companies

was recently quoted in Asian Legal Business’s “The Year in 2015”, an article discussing the biggest developments in the legal industry this year.

Alwyn commented on the Hong Kong landscape and in particular, the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect. He said, “It came as a surprise to the market and the much-anticipated mutual fund recognition between Hong Kong and mainland China had to give way to the Stock Connect. Whilst at the initial stage, the Stock Connect is mainly used by fund management companies based in Hong Kong, there is strong interest from overseas fund management companies in Europe and the U.S. The use of the Stock Connect will continue to expand in 2015.”
