Jeremy Lam was recently interviewed by IFLR regarding the European Securities and Markets Authority's (Esma) consultation on passporting under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive and what kind of effect it may have on Asian fund managers.
This is quite a commitment and requires some strategic planning,” said Jeremy, “Asian managers for whom Europe is not a key jurisdiction will maintain a watching brief, and in the meantime will probably seek to market to the extent they can by relying on available exemptions.”
