On 17 June 2021, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) announced that the mutual recognition of funds (MRF) scheme between Hong Kong and Thailand came into effect on 16 June 2021.
The scheme allows eligible Hong Kong and Thai retail funds to be distributed in each other’s markets through a streamlined process. The details of the MRF scheme were published by the SFC in January 2021, and are outlined in our article available here.
