On 22 May 2015, the Construction and Arbitration practice group hosted the NEC Asia Pacific Users’ Group Breakfast Briefing. Partner Joseph Chung facilitated an open discussion on “Preparing Hong Kong Construction for NEC: Where are we and where do we need to be?”
The briefing was well-timed given the Hong Kong government’s implementation of the full suite of NEC contracts for all construction projects tendered out after April 2015. A panel of key industry figures were invited to offer their expert views:
The discussion focused on the performance of current NEC pilot projects and the Government’s future plans on the use of NEC, experience sharing and updates on NEC training.
The briefing was attended by approximately 80 senior representatives from the construction industry. Given the hot topic and the presence of key industry figures, the discussion was very well received.
Deacons will continue to offer a series of complimentary in-house seminars throughout the year in 2015. The seminars will give an update on building, construction and civil engineering law.
