Kevin is one of the very few practitioners in the market who has been actively involved in the development of the offshore RMB bond market since it opened in 2007. Since then, Kevin has advised on a number of landmark bond issues, including both retail and institutional bond offerings in various currencies, such as the issues by McDonald's, BP Capital Markets PLC, China General Nuclear Power Corporation, Bank of China Limited and The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited. Kevin also has a strong track record in advising sovereign bond issuances, having advised the sovereign RMB bond issues in Hong Kong by the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China since 2010, the debut RMB bill issues in Hong Kong by the People’s Bank of China and the retail bond issues by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
Kevin has significant experience advising listed companies, corporates in a diverse array of industries, financial institutions and government entities on bond transactions with varying structures, including direct issuance by PRC state-owned enterprise, as well as issuance by offshore entities of PRC corporations supported by various forms of credit enhancement and/or security arrangements.
Kevin is also closely involved in the development of the retail structured products, new financial product platforms and derivatives in Hong Kong. He has advised major financial institutions and issuers on a number of “first of its kind” issuances in the retail structured products space (covering retail structured notes, equity linked investments and SEHK listed structured products platforms).
