We are seeking a high calibre and experienced paralegal to join our Commercial Litigation Practice Group.  The role is to provide legal support to lawyers within the practice group, including document review and indexing, research, preparation of court documents and bundles, drafting simple correspondence, liaising with clients and third parties, and translation work.  

Requirements:

  • Holder of a law degree (LLB) or a diploma in law/legal studies or equivalent
  • Experience in a law firm/the legal industry
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese (both written and oral)
  • Proficiency in Putonghua is not necessary, but would be an advantage
  • Hard working, highly organised and enthusiastic
  • Analytical, with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication (written and oral ) and proof-reading skills
  • A team player, but able to work independently
  • Computer literacy - well versed in MS Office, Word and Excel

  • Preparing and drafting bills for approval, finalizing and sending approved bills to clients for payments

We invite bright individuals to join our Corporate Finance Practice Group as prospectus writers.  The role will be responsible for collecting and analysing data, and writing prospectuses according to instructions and timeline.  Successful candidates must have passion in writing, and excellent writing and editorial skills in English.

Requirements:

  • University graduate with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies, or a degree in English Language Studies
  • Excellent English writing and editorial skills
  • Ability to read and understand Chinese
  • Ability to analyse data and present information in a clear, concise and understandable manner

  • Assist with support and undertake trade mark administrative work, including but not limited to trade mark filings, publication and registration, renewals and maintenance, preparation and review of evidence of use, invoicing, notarisation and legalisation, preparation of fee quotations, recordal work and related matters
  • Draft pre-filing advice, reporting letters and attend to routine client communications under the direction of the fee earners
  • Arrange / conduct trade mark searches on official Trade Marks Registers and carry out directed online research
  • Prepare quarterly and annual trade mark status reports
  • Maintain close working relationships and situational awareness across the team and group
  • Ensure that all templates and procedures used are up-to-date and coherent
  • Update electronic information and files to ensure all matters are tracked and processed correctly
  • Liaise and work cross-team to facilitate cross-functional projects
  • Team Working: be prepared to cover the duties of teammates during periods of absence or to reinforce specific teams during surge activity periods

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years secretarial experience gained from legal / professional firms
  • Diploma holder of Legal Studies or related disciplines is a plus
  • Excellent English and Chinese language skills, proficiency in Putonghua is an added advantage
  • Well versed in MS Office applications with strong document formatting skills
  • Attention to detail, organized and self-motivated; a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
