Deacons wins in 2019 Asia Women in Business Law Awards

We are delighted to announce Deacons has won the “Hong Kong Independent Firm of the Year” award at the Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards 2019. This is the 6th consecutive year Deacons has been awarded this highly regarded accolade.

Charmaine Koo, co-head of our Intellectual Property department was recognised for her work in dispute resolution and litigation, and received the individual award for “Best in IP dispute resolution”.

These prestigious awards, specifically for women in the legal industry are the only one of its kind in Asia and celebrate the achievements of women in the legal profession throughout the entire Asia Pacific region.

A number of Partners from Deacons were shortlisted for individual awards, including Patsy Lau for ‘Intellectual Property’, Catherine Zheng for ‘IP dispute resolution’, Cynthia Chung for ‘Labour and employment’ and Lilian Chiang for ‘Real estate’.

On a firm wide basis, Deacons was shortlisted for ‘Best mentoring programme by a national firm’, ‘Best national firm for work-life balance’ and ‘Best national firm for women in business law’.
