Deacons wins FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2022 in the “BEST M&A DEAL” category

We are delighted to announce that Deacons has won the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2022 for the ‘Sale of Goshawk Management Limited (GML) and associated assets by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (CTFE) and NWS Holdings (NWS)’ in the “BEST M&A DEAL” category.

Deacons advised SMBC Capital Aviation, one of the world’s leading aircraft leasing companies, to the Hong Kong law aspects of its acquisition of the entire equity interest in Goshawk Management Limited which holds substantially all of the aircraft leasing businesses of Goshawk Aviation Limited (a 50:50 joint venture of NWS Holdings Limited (SEHK Stock Code: 659) and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited) for a total consideration of US$1.6 billion (approximately HK$12.5 billion) based on an enterprise value of approximately US$6.7 billion. This was a landmark transaction creating the largest Japanese-owned aircraft lessor and the second largest global player by number of aircraft.
