Increased access to the China Markets

Alwyn Li, investment funds partner, recently contributed an article to Global Assets magazine, focusing on increased access to the China markets.

The article covered the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect which is generallywelcomed as a further step towards enhancing Hong Kong’s role as an offshore Renminbi centre.

Alwyn also discussed a breakthrough for foreign fund managers as the Asset Management Association of China released the Tenth FAQs which allow a foreign manager to carry out securities private fund management business in the PRC by setting up an onshore WFOE, rather than having to rely on the traditional path of being a minority shareholder in a joint venture with Chinese partners.
