Deacons Dragons win big at the Sun Life Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships 2015

We are delighted to announce that the Deacons Dragons brought home the 1st Runner-up trophy in the Mixed Silver Plate Final at the Sun Life Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships.

The competition was a full-day event with intense racing, heart-stopping action, a profusion of colour and the sounds of drummers and fans urging paddlers on to the finish line. Despite the hot weather, many colleagues, clients and friends and family of the team turned up to support Deacons Dragons.

The team had spent many hours of training in the boat, learning to be a complete crew and developing their team spirit in preparation for the competition.

The finish time was 1’ 22.153’’, a fantastic achievement for the Deacons Dragons for the 270m distance and a testament to true teamwork.

Congratulations to the team for their amazing results and turnout this year. This achievement wasn’t possible without captains Mandy Lee, Wendy Zhou, and Gilbert Chan, as well as the dedicated paddlers who put in a tremendous amount of hard work.

Finally, Deacons was not only paddling for victory this year, but also for a good cause to raise funds for our selected beneficiary, Produce Green Foundation. Established in 1988 by a group of local enthusiasts concerned about modern farming and the environment, Produce Green Foundation promotes green lifestyles to the public through the concept of organic farming.

Produce Green Foundation has set up the first organic farm and first large-scale community garden for the elderly in Hong Kong, and we are proud to be supporting their efforts.
