Deacons’ Travis Benjamin recognised as a leading tax advisor

Deacons’ tax practice head Travis Benjamin has recently been recognised as a leading tax advisor in Hong Kong by two independent global industry publications. 

Travis has been named in the 2014 editions of the Tax Controversy Leaders Guide and the Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisers.  

The International Tax Review’s Tax Controversy Leaders Guide is published annually.  It identifies leading tax dispute resolution lawyers and advisers around the world by way of peer and client nomination, followed by research and selection by International Tax Review.            

The Legal Media Group’s Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisers is published biennially.  The ranking of tax professionals is run in four stages: general nomination, independent research, candidates selection, and short listing.  Legal Media Group approach legal practitioners in more than 90 jurisdictions and invite them to submit the candidates for the leading practitioners (from outside their own firms). They are asked for reasons for the nominations and additional background information is sought as to why an individual should be included on the list.  The submissions are then validated and the candidates are ranked.  A group of experienced practitioners are then consulted on the short list, after which the leading advisors are selected.
