Deacons has been presented with the Caring Company Award by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of the firm’s commitment in Caring for the Community, Caring for the Employees and Caring for the Environment for the 3rd consecutive year. This is a clear proof of Deacons’ persistence in sustainable development and contribution to the community.
Corporate social responsibility is important to Deacons, and we are delighted to have our contribution and the dedication of our lawyers and staff recognised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. Deacons was nominated for the award by three community partners, namely Hans Andersen Club, Hong Chi Association and Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui MacLehose Centre.
Throughout 2011 to 2013, Deacons has worked seriously to make a positive impact to the community that we are part of, in particular through pro bono work and the Deacons Cares initiative to support charitable causes and community projects. We are pleased to see these efforts have brought our people closer together and moved us forward. The award is an encouragement to our collective efforts in working for deserving causes and the wider community, which is good for both our business and our neighbourhood.
Launched by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) in 2002, the Caring Company Scheme (caringcompany.org.hk) aims at cultivating good corporate citizenship with the mission of building a cohesive society by promoting strategic partnerships among business and social service partners and inspiring corporate social responsibility through caring for the community, employees and the environment. Awards are presented each year to recognise organisations with outstanding involvement in corporate social responsibility programmes.
